Description
What wild foods grow in a mountain forest in summer? In this class, we’ll hike Miner’s Creek trail to Rainbow Lake in Frisco, Colorado, learning edible native plants common to high country aspen/conifer forests and sagebrush meadows, as well as some non-natives. We’ll taste a lot along the trail, and if we find plants or mushrooms that are flourishing, we might forage and cook something back at the trailhead. Other activities may include: learning botanical terms, plant ID by group, how to use a flora, and/or something hands-on from my backpack. No matter what, it will be a full, fun day! I am super excited to offer this class for the first time this year, with permission from the USFS. Hosted by WFG ($125)
