Groundcherries & Nightshades

This class explores the wild world of edible nightshade berries, including ground cherries or wild tomatillos (Physalis species) and black nightshade (Solanum nigrum complex). We discuss some lesser-known Solanum species like cutleaf nightshade (Solanum triflorum), and learn which species not to eat. We also delve into alkaloids common to the Nightshade family, and their implications for both medicine and toxicity.
