Wild Food in Fairplay August 24

What wild food grows around a high country town? In this 4-hour class you will learn a variety of edible wild plants growing in the town of Fairplay, Colorado. We’ll take a plant tour to look at weedy, native, and landscaped wild edibles in the town setting, practice foraging a couple of them, discuss safety and sustainability practices, and give the wild edibles a try. I previously conducted this as a 2-hour class, but based on participant feedback I have retooled it as a 4-hour workshop, allowing time to cover plenty of plants and still do some hands-on practice, and also to make it worth the drive for those coming from a distance. I hope you’ll join us!
